Dr. Sun Lee has devoted his life as a pioneer of microsurgery for the betterment of mankind. During my service as treasurer of the San Diego Surgical Institute I was privileged to know Dr. Sun Lee as an exceptional human being and as a dear friend. My wife, Susan, and I express our deepest condolences to Mrs. Jean Lee and Family.

We have lost a true friend, a great scientist and pioneer in the field of microsurgery. We must remember that Sun Lee never wavered in his teaching responsibilities- he can be considered the father of this surgical field. The therapeutic benefits that thousands of humans have realized due to his surgical translational efforts are the best mark of the man. Bless you Sun and thanks again - Wolff M.Kirsch

To all of the Lee family,

I am so sad to hear of Sun's passing and I am also so very glad that as my brother in Christ and a dear and precious friend he will be at peace in the arms of His Precious and Beloved Savior and that we will be re-united when I find myself there someday.

It has been a deep and vast blessing for me to have met him and Jean, and that I was able to come to know him in a personal way. I shall miss his loving concern for me as I went through a health challenge in the last year. I shall miss him terribly, and will continue to look forward to continued relationship with you, Jean as I see you each Sunday at church. May God Bless you all as you grieve the loss of your husband, father, grandfather, and cherished friend. The world is a far better place having had Dr. Sun Lee as a part of it. Sincerely, Jane Camerer

We are so sad to learn of Dr. Lee's passing. He was such a dear man -- humble and loving, always cheerful and kind, and amazingly accomplished. We were just talking about him today. When he met our Korean foreign exchange student, he asked that we all join him for lunch. He was so kind to Hanbin, and obviously enjoyed talking with him in Korean and sharing stories, which he thoughtfully translated for us. We knew him from church, where he and Jean faithfully attended for several years. But we had no idea how esteemed he was in his profession! What an amazing man. We were fortunate to have known him. I'm sure he is delighted in the presence of His Lord and Savior now. He was a tremendous example of Christian virtues -- humility, kindness, compassion, generosity, faith, gratitude and love.
