I miss you Armand.

Dear Anita, Rachel and Heidi; shocked and deeply saddened I found out about Armands passing. From your mom & grandmoms home Germany I send my deepest condolences to you all.
More than 20 years Armand and I shared many spontaneous and friendly conversations.
I remember well, meeting him first time after moving just two doors away from the Oceano fish & ship restaurant. While I was learning to play the piano, he curiously knocked at my window and later introduced Rachel to me. Often in the morning, before he opened the restaurant we went to the beach, a freshly brewed coffee mug in our hands while discussing important topics & the meaning of life.
Later, back home in Germany we continued with more advance technology using video skype. Often early mornings, Armand sitting at the front porch, I had the funny impression talking to a hermit with ipad ;-)
Armand was unlike many Americans Ive met...... a quiet & peaceful observer of life never judgemental, always curious and open minded his smile and humble soul will be greatly missed!
Anita, Rachel and Heidi I will be thinking of you all and sending my love. Paul

Dear Anita, Rachel and Heidi; Tom Skeen and others who feel this loss so keenly,
Arthur and I send our deepest condolences. We were all such kids when we were doing little theater at The Good Old Days with Dick Skeen. I've moved around a lot, but Arthur always returns to SLO, so he has stayed in touch. I've just been lucky, when the restaurant was open in Oceano and I'd drop by for a visit, or we'd meet in some other unexpected place when I'd come "home" to visit Mama. Arthur and I would be at Armand's service if we were not attending our youngest granddaughter's graduation from Fuzzy Caterpillar Preschool tomorrow, an event that is vital to her that we attend. Nonetheless, we will be thinking of you all and sending our love to each of you. Rachel, I'm so sorry I've never gotten to meet you. Your father spoke of you with such joy and pride. Anita... There is always so little to say that feels "right," but please know we loved Armand dearly and will miss all the days of our lives. Much love, Katherine (Kathy) and Arthur Jensen

Oh, Armand! I miss our daily visits, our wonderful debates over the nature of things, my Skype visits with your friends, Googling our questions together, and other really important fact-sharing. We pondered the mysteries of life to no conclusion but a great laugh over the journey we took getting there. We took such delight over the malicious gumball machine that produced (if we were lucky) only two gumballs for 25 cents. I'm glad I knew you and so grateful you shared your special way of being with our family and Phoenix. The last thing you said to me, as you did whenever you said goodbye, was And that's all I have to say about that!! as you exited our door and that always made me laugh. And, I hope we'll meet again to continue our explorations in some peaceful spot in the By and By. Ginger.
