It is with great sadness that l learned of Johns passing. He was much more than a friend. I truly thought of him as family. He was a huge part of both my late husbands and my life for more than 40 years. He and my husband Clyde, partnered many ecological developments over the years. John was one of the most brilliant men I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. The world is a much better place today because of Johns foresight.

Uncle John saved my life when I was very young. I fell in the river up at Copperopolis; he was the one who saw me first - he jumped into the rapidly moving river and pulled me to safety.
That incident is probably my earliest memory.
I will always remember his quick smile and what a fun person he was.

Dear Carol, I was incredibly saddened to hear of Dr. John's passing. He was by far one of my favorite clients and I thought of him as a friend since I first met him in the late 1980s. I have been meaning to come up to see you both at the ranch again, but have been quite ill for the last few years. I will miss my conversations with him.

Dear Carol,
It was with great surprise to come upon John's obituary today (May 7) as I was looking for someone else on the website. John was such a special man who really loved life and packed so much into it. It was obvious you were the apple of his eye! We are saddened to learn of his passing and know it leaves a huge hole in your life. Our hearts and love go out to you as you adjust to this great loss in your life. Love 'n prayers, Mary and Bill Tooley

John Alexander was one of the kindest, intelligent men I have ever met. While care taking his wife Midge at Villa Creek, we became great friends. He had the answer to Cambria's water shortage 36 years ago.... Recycle. I love you John. I will miss knowing you are there.... Sincere heartfelt thoughts to your family. Sarah Russo

My husband , Mike, and I were so glad we were able to share memories about Uncle John with all his friends and family at the memorial service. He was bigger than life itself and I will miss him terribly. He was the smartest person I know and he wasn't done changing the world.
