Even now, it hurts to say good bye. I know, I know Kurt, but it is still so flippin' hard, and yes, I still can't say #$%!. But I am freer in my thinking and gosh, dear friend, as you always started our chats, I do miss you. Like Bill, you came into my life in the 6th grade at Portola Valley elem. You always were too cool and too cute! You and Wayne are in my thoughts. Love you both, sniff. Holly

Kurt has been a wonderful friend to me for about 25 years. We practiced law together for many years in Tulare County Superior Court, Juvenile Division. We always covered for each other as needed in court. But Kurt went out of his way to help me. When my son was striken with cancer, Kurt took over my cases without a complaint. He was always cheerful and funny. He was always there to lend a helping hand. I miss him terribly.

Kurt first showed up in my 6th grade class in Portola Valley on the SF Peninsula. He was the cutest, preppiest, most energetic, happy, friendly kid in our school. I wished I could be as "cool" as him. He left our school after one year. The memory of that happy kid got to me so much that I went searching for him and somehow found him in Fresno(?) about 30 years later, practicing law. Then we lost touch again for another 14 years when I found him in Los Osos with Wayne. Even though he was so far away from L.A., I trusted him so much I made him the executor of my Will and Living Trust, as he promised to outlive me. So now, I am terribly bummed. I don't know of another friend who I would put that much trust in who would have the competence Kurt did. Life is not fair and I am hurting for our loss. It must be horrible for Wayne. I can't imagine the pain.

How sad to hear of our longtime friend's passing. Even though it has been a few years since we have visited with Kurt, we have many, many good memories of him. He had such a unique, fun personality, there won't be another like him. We had lots of good times, lots of laughs over the twenty years we knew him. It is such a loss to know that he is no longer here for those of us who have always loved him. Our sincerest condolences to you Wayne, and the family.

I was sad to see the passing of a great friend, and employer, my friend. I worked for Kurt, he was the best person that I have known. He was a great "boss" we worked well together. Kurt was kind and very passionte about everything and everyone he touched. I am at a loss for words. Wayne I am so very sad for your loss, you and Kurt were apart of my family. I will forever keep you and Kurt in my prayers.

I read with sadness of the passing of a very compassionate man, who never left a stone unturned to represent his clients. I appreciated him for his passionte care and always instilling hope in his young clietns and their families. I learned a lot about the law from Kurt, and I believe he learned a lot from me as an educator in my advocacy for chidren. We worked many cases as a "team" and so many of his clients have went on to be positive and contributing adults in society. Kurt was always open to listen and try inovative and creative solutions for his clients, many of which were very successful for the kids. I so appreciated that about him, and his fearless approach to think outside the box. He will be greatly missed by me and all our mutual clients during the last three years. Your life lives on Kurt, in the lives of all those young folks you turned around, and the inspiration that I will carry forward in my continued advocacy for those kids who have few support systems. Thanks, Kurt, for sharing so much of who you are with those that needed you the most. Brad Bailey, Education Advocate and retired school district superintendent.
