I've been trying for weeks to write on this page and I was so overwhelmed with the love shown by her friends and family at the service that it's taken me until now to say how this. I could feel that the love took over the sadness that day. It was one of the most heartbreaking things I've ever experienced, but the love Mary inspired in everyone was so evident and the love that she received from all her friends and family was so obvious that I haven't been able to think of how to express how much that meant to me and my family and friends. Mary was so special, and I've always been so happy we were so close all these years. I feel lucky to have been part of her life and family, and that our families were so close. Over the past years I've been lucky to continue to be her friend and know her family as they grew up and to meet her new circle of loving friends. I will never forget any of them, and I want to stay in touch forever. Love, Muggs

I was aquinted with Mary when she was at Saratoga High ,West Valley Junior College and Cal Poly. She was a wonderful person and came from a loving and generous family.I always knew she would become a successful mother ,wife, a career woman as an asset to whereever she lived.Through numerous mutual friends I have been aware of her ovarian cancer and it's devastation. It always saddened me to here that such a gifted person was being cut down prematurely.I have been and will continue making prayers to the big guy upstairs to let him know what a wonderful person he is recieving.God bless Mary and her family! Dear Doug ,Griffin, Caroline, I have just heard of Mary's passing, it breaks my heart. I can only think of all the times when the two of you kids were small and at the daycare and all the fun times we had, just like family. Your mothers smiling face as she burst through the door. Our little chats over a glass a wine. And even though our paths seldom crossed these passed few years I thought of all of you often with love in my heart. And now in your time of sorrow I will keep you in my prayers and in my thoughts. I know that her spirit is in all of you and will give you the strength to carry on just as she did in life, may God bless!

Dear Doug & Family---Like a stone tossed into a pond causing ripples, Mary's sweet spirit of love and enthusiasm for life radiated and touched so many in such special ways. May God gently hold you all close and encourage your hearts. With our heartfelt sympathy and prayers---Pam & Dale Boggs/Singapore

Dear Doug, Griffin & Caroline,

I'm so sorry to hear of Mary's passing. She was such a wonderful woman, wife, mother and friend. Always with a positive, upbeat attitude, wanting to help and with a big smile on her face. (A glass of good wine in her hand...) I have so many memories of her. With our kids growing up together, from preschool through high school she and I were always at the same classrooms volunteering. She loved being involved with fundraisers and the ones that stand out for me were at the Learning Tree Preschool when we sold and flew in Maine Lobsters, and at Bauer/Speck school the Bingo nights when she was always helping out where ever she was needed from set up to clean up!

I realize that these were only a couple of examples of her endless volunteer work in the community. She set a great example for others around her and her kids, and I'm sure you're proud of her, Griffin and Caroline. I loved her love for life, she lived each moment to the fullest. I will miss her, and am so honored and blessed she was a part of my life for 20 years. She was a great friend, and a really good listener. God bless you all.

Dear Doug:
I met your family in the role of 5th grade teacher of both Griffin and Caroline at Glen Speck School . I remember how excited Mary was at going to work at Cuesta College. I enjoyed knowing her very much. Please give my regards to Griffin and Caroline.
Sincerely,
Mr. Bentley

Mary was such a loving, special lady, beautiful in so many ways. She was so often a source of love and comfort to others. She shared her faith in God, as well as her love and wisdom--gifts that last forever. Because God leaves us with memories and love, Mary will live on in many hearts forever. May the gentle hand of God touch your hearts with peace.
