Dear Mary,

How I miss the chance to call and sing happy birthday to you on the phone, a family ritual of ours for as long as I can remember. I'm sure you heard me sing to you this year.

Happy Birthday Mar!

Love & miss you,

When a thing like this happens I chose to be thankful to have had the good fortune to have had such a fine person in my life. For me the loss is immense. My treasured older sister; she made chicken cacciatore for us and filled our home with beautiful music.
It was a source of great pride for me to see that our family had produced such a talented and lovely human being. She could play nearly any song... sight reading or by ear she was almost like a juke box. All genres rock, standards, classical jazz. When she studied difficult classical peices I enjoyed sitting beside her on the piano bench and turning the pages of sheet music.
I remember clearly skiing with Mary. We didn't ski fast, but enjoyed ourselves so much on the quiet side of the mountain.
Mary Anne had superior intelligence but wouldn't admit it. She taught me to imagine more deeply .
Mary knew she was blessed with great gifts. First came piano, then a burning love for reading, which lead to her love of writing. She loved to cook, but to make food for those she loved is a form of love for others. When someone has that deep of an involvment in the world it is both ecstasy for them and an unbearable burden as well.

I think Mary Anne could be compared to a rare and exquisite flower. The conditions had to be perfect for her to emerge, and like a flower she came and went. We we're so lucky to have known her.

People: love one another use your gifts and be beautiful.

Tony Joe and Julie: I'm so sorry.

Maryann ...I will miss you g/f.. I will miss our chats. You always had the time & knew what to say. To hold a hand, to give a hug. You knew how to make people laugh & smile...sock puppets come to mind.. She could make ya laugh with just one line. Many times.. Mike and I laughed so hard with her.. always had a good time . You showed me how powerful words are and can be.You gave me words of wisdom, to help me through trying times, words to hang on to, when I needed strength. So glad our pathes crossed, & I was able to meet you, even thou it was online, I felt like I have known you for a long time.I am so glad I had the privilege to be your friend.
Your suffering is over..no more pain.... I am thinking you are with your mom,I know you missed her so., catching up on things, I bet.
Tony, Joe, & Jules.... I can only imagine your grief..
May her happy times with you and her laughter stay with you always.

I met Maryann online through mutual people and even though I only knew her through that you can tell she was a pleasure to be around. She was always making you laugh. It always seemed as if she had such a zest for life. One that unfortanetly ended to soon. To her family I offer my deepest thoughts and prayers. May her legacy always remain in everyones heart. for it seems like she has touch many. God rest your soul maryann. I am sure you are keeping them all laughing like you did us.

I got to know Maryanne through her posts to the 2003 Golden Heart finalists' loop. She made quite an impression--welcoming, caring, funny, full of life. And so talented! We'll all miss her.

Sending sympathy to all her family and friends--
