Dear Maxine. Wow, what a woman. I was your secretary in early 70's. The Devil Wears Prada--well, that was us. You called me Tiny (I was), and I prayed for a response from H.G. Brown so you would be happy. You were gorgeous, talented, scary at times, but I knew your heart was good--you loved your cat. One of my duties was to buy kitty queen cat food. I think of you often. I really do not like doing anything like this because I am having a hard time with it.

She was an intelligent, witty, determined, joyful, considerate, and a outspoken person. I will truly miss her, but I will still hear her very words. I grew up with her.

Her sister, Jencie

Dear Maxine,

Everyone dies, but not everyone lives.

Congratulations on a life well-lived.

I will never forget you.
