You will be missed, Uncle, but never forgotten. Rest easy knowing that your kindness and love touched a great many people, inspiring us all to be better and to live life to the fullest. We love you.

Kim & Boys, I have been out of town and came home and heard the shocking news. Mike was a very special person. My son had trouble in school and Mike gave his time and helped him finish. I am so sorry for your loss. I am thinking of you.

I was shocked to hear that Mike was gone. My heart goes out to Kim, David and Aaron. I met Aaron only once, and never met Kim or David, but as a colleague, I heard many stories about how proud Mike was of his family. He liked to talk about his love for his family and passion for teaching. He will be missed.

Like most people, I guess, I have a favorite theologian. Mine, however, is actually a theologian, and his name is Abraham Heschel. He said a lot of things, and many were very good. Among them: "Just to be is a blessing; just to live is holy." Uncle Mike recognized life as a gift (which isn't all that uncommon - we generally like, or at least wish to live, I think); living fully and honestly and kindly, with integrity, hope, and good ol' goodness. But he extended this love far beyond his own life, and saw this gift in all of us and in the world around him. That's the thing, see? We miss him so much because we love him, but also because he loved us and let us know it. That's the greatest gift, right there. I don't see any reason why that shared love and understanding should ever end. To quote another wise dude who wrote on this message board earlier, "Love is forever."

Uncle Mike was my godfather and my dad's twin brother and I am sad and will miss him. But I am deeply grateful to have known him and I will share my memories and the lessons I have learned from him and from all of you with my son and throughout my life. Thanks, Uncle Mike, for teaching me so much, and for continuing to inspire me, forever.

Uncle Mike as a young teenager always had time for his nephews. I will never forget the football games on the 9th fairway of the California Country Club, and our last football game in Los Osos on Thanksgiving a few years back. Thank you for your kindness and for teaching me how to be a better person. You will be misssed.

Kim, David and Aaron,
My prayers and heart goes out to you. I can not image what you must be going through. Mike was a wonderful person. I will always remember his kindness and cheerful smile.
I will always remember when Mike was in charge of Sunday school at VCC and All the teachers would complain to him if anything was wrong in our classrooms on Monday's. One time teacher Elisabeth and I lost our broom and We could not find it any where. The next day being the sweet heart he is Mike shows up to the yellow door with a new top of the line broom for us. :) I will always remember his kindness and sweetness. Mike also taught two of my kids in night school and they just loved him. He had a way with teenagers that was a gift.
God Bless you and the boys.

Mike Rosen was a great friend and tennis competitor. We had many great battles over the years, and he certainly made me a better player. More importantly, he made me a better person. His patience, kindness and graciousness will never be forgotten. I wasn't surprised that so many people attended his service today. He touched many lives. I will miss my friend.

Mike was a great tennis coach. He was always patient and encouraging. His legacy will live in my ground game and footwork on the tennis court.
