Missie crossed my mind today. Using social media to find her, I came upon this link. I am saddened by her passing. We went to school together in Woodland, and years later I was so very proud to see here as a news casters on TV. She was delightful! I will always remember her smile and her infectious laughter. Her family and children should be extremely proud. My condolences for your loss, but what a gift she was to all that knew here.

I met Missie in 1976. I was nine years old and very interested in broadcasting. I was so interested that I convinced Missie to let me interview Jerry Brown at the Newtork in San Luis Obispo. He was running for president at the time and was in San Luis doing fund raising and interviews. Missie was so nice to me and had such a great smile and sparkle in here eye. It didn't hurt that she had a really cool car, Datsun 280z. What an amzing person. Thank you for the kindness and the great experience. It it one of my fondest memories as a child.

I have known Missie since we were both six years old. We went to grade school and high school together. We were supposed to go to college together at Shasta college, but I got married, so she went alone. The last time I saw her was in San Luis Obispo, after Lacey was born. My husband, myself and my three kids visited them in her home there. I e-mailed her a couple of times at PG&E, once when her daughter was getting married and another time when she was going out on medical leave. But she never told me why. I am so sorry to hear of her passing. Both of our birthdays were in March. Hers on the 3rd and mine on the 23rd. I remember she used to call her Mom, Buggie. They call me LT. I have so many memories. I will try to find a photo of her and me if possible and send it to Lacey. Lacey, I only saw you when you were first born. Your Mom was a really good person. Everyone loved her. I will write your address down and keep it and try to find something for your memory book. Buggie, Larry and Bruce, I am so sorry to hear about Missie.
Sincerely,
Linda Taplin - Tremoureux - Harrell

Our very sincere condolence to Missie’s family. We are so sorry to just hear of your loss. It was a pleasure during our years with the company in San Luis Obispo to occasionally work with, or help out, Missie on one project or another. Even in trying times she always made the best of the situation and was a pleasure to work with. Her contributions to the community and the company were enormous.

How can you not love the person who gave you a great nickname? We had so many fun adventures, from Missie sneaking into a "closed" meeting, to a fun day at Disneyland with good friends, to Super Bowl Sunday at the Awhanee in Yo. While she was here she brightened our world. What a wonderful, wonderful, magical person! Heartfelt condolences to Missie's family, especially to Larry and her children. I will always remember Missie, News-Pires Hobson.

We have many fond memories of Missie! We first met Missie wandering the halls of the girls dorm at Shasta College in the fall of 1971. She was just checking it out, hoping for an opening in the dorms...a few weeks later we helped her move from her room on the Sacramento River to the dorms. We became friends quickly when we realized she grew up in our neck of the woods...Sally and I grew up in Woodland and Missie lived at that time on a farm in Robbins. We have many happy and funny memories of Missie, from her being so excited about a new process they used on her hair (the blow dryer...a new thing in the early 70's!!!) to her love for "Blackie and Sherman" her Guinea Pigs. Missie was always effervescent, positive, warm and caring. She loved to have fun, and enjoyed being part of all the adventures we had living in the dorms. We are sure she will be greatly missed by those who had the pleasure of having her in their lives.

Our prayers and thoughts are with Missie's family.

My deepest sorrow for the passing of a very special person. I met Missie in 1983, the year I stared at PG&E as a mail clerk. She was so kind and supportive to me and we stayed friends throughout our careers. What stays in my mind is her bright smile, shining eyes and happy personality. My thoughts are with you.
