Mrs. Watts taught me English in 1971 at Cuesta! I also worked in the English Dept. as a student, helping out with clerical work. I always thought Nancy was so beautiful and statuesque!

I remembered Miss Watts. My older sister had her for an English teacher. I was good friends with Nancy Watts On Facebook. I saw Miss Watts and Laura on mother`s day May 1985 at a Pacific Coast Restaurant in Pismo Beach.

I took Ms. Watts' Intro to Poetry course at Cuesta College in spring 1981, concurrently with my final semester of high school. I was 17 years old. The class was rigorous indeed. I thought she was a beautiful woman, almost intriguingly so to my youthful sensibilities. Sorry to hear about her passing. I still have my text from that course, and have been an a high school (and occasional community college) English instructor for several decades now. I guess she made an impact on me.

i have been a neighbor of Nancy's for a long time, was so sad to hear of her passing. What a beautiful photo presentation made of her life, i wish i had taken the time to know her better, what a remarkable and lovely lady. i will think of her every time i pass her home on the corner, i go by there every day. my thoughts of care and tenderness go out to her family,

Thanks to Laura and Mimi for letting me know about Nancy. I met Nancy on her recent trip to Italy. We were in adjacent seats on the tour bus and I was fortunate enough to get to be friends with her. Some of us were a little disgrunted because the tour did not include all our meals. Now I'm so glad about that, because Nancy and I would venture out to find a trattoria, and our friendship grew as a result of these little adventures. We were both excited to see all the classic sites in Italy, such as Amalfi, Pompeii, the Colesseum in Rome, and Venice. Nancy and I both wanted each other to take photos so I wasn't stuck taking "selfies" thanks to that!

We then swapped photos back in the U.S. That led to talking by e-mail about the news, and we started exchanging ideas for some future travels. One of her ideas was going to New York City right before the Tony Awards next year. Nancy told me about Road Scholar. We discussed the trip brochures. She even proposed that I go on a trip with her and Laura, Jeff and other family, or visiting family, which I thought was pretty neat.

I really enjoyed my developing friendship with Nancy and really appreciated her expressing appreciation of our friendship to me, because even if people think that they usually don't put it in words. It sure makes for a warm fuzzy happy feeling to know that someone wants to be your friend!

I am so sad to think the fun things I looked forward to doing with Nancy can't happen. Instead I have the bittersweet memories of the fun and communications I had with her starting last May. The Colesseum or the Pompeii ruins couldn't make me cry, but losing Nancy does.

Feeling this way about Nancy's recent friendship, it is difficult to imagine how hard it is for her family and friends of a lifetime. My heart goes out to you. The collage of photos of Nancy is wonderful and a treat for those of us who more recently met her. She was beautiful, outside and inside.

I am so grateful for the many shared memories here. And for those who can make it, I look forward to hearing more and spending time with you on Sunday.

Nancy was one of my first clients as a fitness teacher. She had been a part of my life through thick and thin. She has been so kind and loving over the years that I have known her. She loved her family very much and always, always wanted the best for them and her heart was always in a place with concern and care for their best interests in heart. She loved Chauncey and Annie, her two black poodles very much. I love you Nancy and miss you every day...

So very sad to hear of Nancy's passing. I was a neighbor on O'Connor Way and have many fond memories of riding with Nancy, Faye, Karin and the Proud girls. My condolences to the family.

35 years later, Ms. Watts (as we addressed her) Freshmen Composition and Literature classes are my fondest of college memories. Be it her grace and fashion style (classy, elegant but professional), that she expected students to put forth their best effort and brooked no excuse for anything less, or watching her yellow Cadillac in the rear view mirror approach and then blaze by me on Highway 1 in the morning. She was provocative, stimulating and had the audacity to make us think. I still chuckle remembering the end of semester class soiree Ms. Watts hosted in her home where my buddy and I (the only males in attendance) read selections of feminist poetry to the group to earn our hors d'oeuvres. Just a month or so ago something reminded me of her classes and brought a smile to my face. Great memories, thank you Ms. Watts.
