I was a brakemen/conductor with the SP when Pat was an SP officer at West Colton and Yuma. In the days before cell phone and centralized dispatchers if a loved one wanted information about your location they would call you're a-way-from home terminal. One day my mom called Yuma yard office to inquire about me. Pat was the SP official at the time and answered the phone .. hence began a chat between my boss and my mom. From that day on whenever I saw Pat his first words were call your mom and my reply was she says hi. Rest in peace Pat.

I worked with Pat's wife, Gabrielle, years ago when they were first married and living in San Luis Obispo. I will always remember both of them as wonderful people. They were a joy to be around.

One of the great Engineers that I had the pleasure to work and learn from with my Time at SLO with the UP. Pat was one of the best engineers from the GREAT SP of learning.
RIP PAT VAUGHAN.

Pat and I weren't close, but I learned what kind of guy he was. We went to dinner together at Gene's in Yuma. When we left, there was a guy asking for money. Pat ask him if he was hungry, then took him into the restaurant and bought him dinner. He was a wonderful Christian man. I'm glad I had a chance to know him.

Pat,
Thank you for gifting me one of my best friends-Bri. I know you and Bri shared a very special father/daughter friendship that only one could hope for.
I will cherish our conversations, laughter and your positive outlook on life up to the moment we were able to say goodbye. YOU ARE DEEPLY MISSED AND LOVED!

Pat, we ran around a lot together on the old San Joaquin Division and spoke to a lot of people, you were always kind, friendly and a teacher at heart. Semper Fidelis Jarhead, I'll be along for the change of guard at Heaven's gates.
