Wow, Uncle Dick; I sure bet you didn't expect to see two sisters in two weeks, especially Mom! As hard as it is for us to have lost Mom and Aunt Colleen, I'm sure glad that they're reunited with their brothers (and for Mom, meeting a sister for the first time). Please look after them, and help not only us, but Aunt Colleen's family cope with such a devastating loss.

Love you bunches!!

Thank you for protecting us when we had the fires down here a couple weeks ago. As I'm sure you know, it got pretty close to Mom/Dad, but we all got out safely. Could you take good care of May (Paul's wife's mom), who just got there on the 15th? Can't believe it just past the four year mark since you left. Of course, you're never really gone.

Just wanted to wish you a belated happy father's day.

I forgot I can do this anytime I want, but I just wanted to wish you a belated Happy Birthday. Can't believe it's gonna be two years. I still have the little sticker that identified where I/we were going in the hospital. I'll never be able to thank Mom enough for bringing me up there when we heard what happened.

To the Casey Family,
I have many memories of Dick, all wonderful. There are two things which matter more than the others. As a Chief Petty Officer, USN, he held what in fact is the most important position in the navy. There in fact is no one higher, as the events of December 7th 1941 clearly demonstrated when it was the Petty Officers who saved the ships. The second is what you all know: Dick was a family man and has a wonderful family, all of whom treated me and my son Sean with the greatest of kindnesses and hospitality. Dick left behind the best of all legacies, a wonderful wife and family, and for that he surely occupies a very special place in Heaven. Of course there is that special memory, the fall of 1947, when I literally just out of the woods as a sixteen year old member of the Civilian Fire Fighting Corps of the State of Washington was entertained by the most wonderful Casey Clan of Chicago. What fantastic relatives my mother had, and how callow I was. Dick, in his sailor whites, took me by the hand and escorted me to some interesting shows, including one of an automobiles which was highly publicized at the time, but had a great secret: no engine. I have always cherished that memory.
