We were best buddies in high school. Lost track of him. The last day I saw him was the day Pres Regan was shot. Very sorry he passed. Steve Borgwardt 775 848-9091

Last time I saw Macie he was sitting on a park bench with Steve Grauten! Hadn't seen Macie in probably 25 years. Many great memories of Steve and Marian and so sorry for our collective loss. RIP Macie!

I only knew Stephen while we both attended Cal Poly. I remember him from our initial meeting in Fremont Hall our first year there ('64). He was a budding folk singer then, and had the Dylan sound down pretty well. I enjoyed his unpretentious nature. He was wiser than I and spent much of his life in San Luis with many of the same guys I got to know and love during those wonderful days. I lost contact with him after Poly but from what I read in his Obit. it is obvious he was loved by many. May God take good care of him til we meet again.

Steve participated in the friendships and frivolities at "Buckley Ranch." He helped me work thru my craziness at that time. There were many adventures...like walking thru the cows at midnite. I'm fortunate to have had him for a friend.

So THATS where I heard the "duck walks into a bar."

I first knew Stephen Macie and the crew way back at cal poly...many good times. Stephen had a wonderful personality always friendly and fun loving. Stephen's engineering design services were clear as well as detailed from a common sence point of view. Must have come from Hans Mager's cal poly way... god is with you in heaven Stephen Macie and god bless your family...

It was a sad moment indeed when I saw Steve's picture and read his obituary in the Tribune. To his wife family and friends, Please accept my heart felt condolences.
Steve was my student in Arce, and I remember his good humor and activities in the lab. One in particular that we still lafe about.
Lighting Electric helped me build my house in 1973-74.
Steve was a framer along with his wiring abilities.
With regret, I will not be able to attend his gathering, but I
send my greetings to all.

John Edmisten

I remember Stephen telling me the duck joke at a Clamper's gathering on a bright morning on the beach down south. If I ever see a duck walk into a bar I know it's going to be him. He gave me the biggest laugh that day and I really needed it. Bless your heart dear.
