I just had Sue's Christmas card returned and discovered my oldest friend has passed. Sue and I knew each other since elementary school, played Barbie dolls together, and many good times. Her mom made the best cheese sandwiches! She was a great person. My heart goes out to the family.

Dearest Friend Sue. My high school friend, my college roommate, my forever friend. I just heard about your passing. It saddens me beyond belief. Thank you to Vikki for calling me. My heart goes out to you and your family and to Libby and her family.
Sue, I will always cherish our visits over the last decade. It was like the many years in-between had never happened. I will treasure the fun we had at our 40 year high school reunion and got to be roomies again for the weekend. I hope to see you again someday...

Libby and Vikki...I was so sad to learn of your mom's death today. I got to know your mother through my dearest friend, your grandmother Helen. Helen would fly to Bristol, Virginia just to have lunch. But most visits were several days. This was after her volunteer work at Virginia Intermont College where we first met. Through our good times together felt like I knew you girls and your sweet mother. Then Helen planned the most wonderful trip for my daughter, granddaughter and myself to California in June of '06. One of the most memorable times was a delicious salmon dinner at Sue's. It was more than wonderful meeting her. Such a delightful and sweet lady. Helen kept me up-to-date with you girls, your precious families and your mother. I am just devastated to learn of her death. SO very sorry and my heart goes out to you and your families. May God comfort you with His love and grace.

Mrs. Waterbury will be extremely missed. I did not personally as a teacher but always heard positive things from all my classmates. I am sure she helped in the molding of hundreds of young people.

She was a WONDERFUL teacher! Many of my student-athletes were involved in the "Tiny Tigers" pre-school program. Two of my own children, Gretchen and Katelyn were in her program as "Tiny Tigers". Besides the impact that she had on SO many "Tiny Tigers" and all of the SLOHS students that were "teachers" in the program, she was also a very wonderful and supportive colleague. I remember her coming to many of our Volleyball matches to support the girls that were in her program! So, so thankful to have known her and her husband during my years as a PE teacher and Volleyball Coach at SLOHS and also the positive impact that she had on my own children. Continued blessings to the entire Waterbury extended family during this difficult time.

For years I have told my child development class at San Luis Obispo High School that I want to be Mrs. Waterbury when I grow up. She was an inspiration and such a terrific mentor.

I was a secretary for the ROP at SLOHS for several years and without a doubt, Susan was one of my favourite ROP teachers. She was always smiling and so friendly.....a delight to work with. My condolences to her family.

I am so sorry for your loss. Susan was such a wonderful lady and clearly had such an amazing love for her family and especially her sweet grandchildren whom she was so proud of. I will miss her and her contagious laugh. Prayers for comfort for her family
