So sad to hear of Gerry's passing. As a brand new superintendent in Ballston Spa many years ago, I benefited much from his steady hand and wise counsel at BOCES. He will be missed but certainly not forgotten.

Dear Rita,

My heart goes out to you. Jerry was such a wise and caring person. I'm so sorry to hear of his passing.

I have wonderful memories of the outstanding leadership Jerry gave to Boy Scouting during his time as council president. I'll never forget the friendship and ideas we shared, particularly when all of us traveled to national meetings together. I always felt re-energized as we solved the problems of the world. It was such fun to be with you and Jerry.

Jerry's support of youth was matched by his support of educators. I remember feeling amazed at the encouragement he gave me when I went back to college to work on my Ph.D. A few years later, I couldn't believe my good fortune that Jerry was interested in joining our UAlbany research team to study best practices in New York State schools. He brought such insight and depth of understanding!

The legacy that Jerry leaves is never-ending, as countless Boy Scouts and students and educators live their lives with the values Jerry taught deeply embedded in their hearts and minds.

Love,
Linda Baker
