How the years have passed! I knew Craig from long ago when we used to play tennis together at Armstrong State College. Even then he was an inspiration to most of us - he was a little older, didn't have the experience playing most of us had, but was always there to encourage others on the team and show us "youngsters" what hard work and dedication looked like. He never spoke critically of others, and was a model of kindness and maturity. He made our team "better" in ways that transcended winning and losing. His contribution to the team was "fundamental."

I never had the privilege of meeting his family, but I hope this message brings them the pride and consolation in knowing that Craig was an inspiration and model to many people, even long ago as a young man.

I was so sorry to hear of Craig's passing. I am his second cousin but unfortunately our family did not get together much. I would run into Craig around town on occasion. I have just recently had surgery which is why I did not get to the visitation or funeral. I wish I had had a chance to meet Suzanne and his daughters. Just know that my thoughts and prayers are with you family.

Craig was an early-rising Masters swimmer at the Chatham County Aquatic Center for years. I was fortunate to serve as his swim coach and can attest that he always arrived with a great smile and a sunny disposition. It was a pleasure to know him and he was a real credit to Savannah.

I worked with Craig for the past several years on the Beaufort Water Festival parade broadcast. He was always the nicest, most professional guy. He will be missed dearly by the community. I hope that these messages of remembrance can bring some solace to his family in the days ahead.
