I first met Donald when we were in middle school. All through middle school and high school he was a close loyal friend. We had a lot of fun hanging out andworking on each other's cars. A good memory was sitting at the local truck stop restaurant having coffee for hours. We even brought our own cups because the owner agreed not to charge us for the coffee then which was good because between the two of us we only could afford a tip for the waitress. He was a lot of fun to talk to. After high school Don and I and another friend Todd shared an apartment for a while. And after I got out of the military and returned to Waupaca Don stayed with us for a while. My kids enjoyed spending time with "uncle" Don.
Even though with all the distractions that our adult lives brought we drifted apart and sometimes lost touch I will always see him as having been my best friend. He will be missed.
