Ken and I were friends from the eighth grade on, in fact his mom and dad were kind enough to let me stay the night before my first wedding at their home, and even got to have a rare talk with Kens Dad since we both had spent time in the Army. Ken was my best man, a few years later he was able to visit me in Germany were I was stationed in Vilseck, he was on a quest to discover Europe on his Bike, he had told me of the Comic Con adventure he had in Amsterdam, I was glad for him to get to meet both my children and get caught up on how life was in and around Minneapolis and any stories of Cottage Grove. He had a sense of creativity, a great imagination, the joy of discovering different places and different cultures, I felt fortunate that at that point in my life I was able to share how my family was doing with Ken, he was proud of his brothers and sisters I would inquire how they were doing I didn't know them I just knew them through Ken always positive you had the sense of closeness that his family had. Time may go by I will always have great memory's of going to visit ken and ride bikes over the greater part of Cottage Grove and I can still hear Ken explaining to me the importance of having a glass of water inside the microwave at his moms house so the molecules would have somewhere to go, or something to that order.
