Gary was born on February 11, 1949 in Minneapolis. He attended Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis and the University of Minnesota. He passed away in Chadron, Nebraska on July 19, 2017 at the age of 68. Gary is predeceased by his parents, Grant and Ida Hultgren. Gary is survived by his wife, Marilyn, former wife Lissa Miller (Michael) and their daughters Kacie Hultgren Kim (Peter) and Jamie Hultgren and by grandson Sven Barack Kim, sister Nancy Hasbargen (Tim) and three nieces, one nephew and grandnieces and grandnephews. Gary's karaoke business "Karaoke King" reflected his love of singing and performing, particularly performing Elvis impersonations. Gary had a thirty year career at VA Medical Centers in Providence, RI, Tacoma, WA, Seattle, WA and St. Cloud, MN. He will be sadly missed by family and friends.

I have so many fond memories of Gary while he lived in Minnesota. He was a great friend to Mike. Hope they are racing cars together now.
