Rosalia M. Gregory, 88 of Belgrade, died August 18, 2016 at the Belgrade Nursing Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 22, 2016 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Belgrade. Visitation will be Sunday from 4-8 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home in Belgrade where a Christian mothers rosary will be at 5:00 pm. and parish prayer service will be at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue on Monday for one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. www.hafh.org
Rosalia Marie Gregory was born on June 4, 1928 in St. Francis, the daughter of Reinhard and Mary (Beckers) Welters. She grew up on a farm near Elrosa where she attended grade school and Belgrade High School. On May 20, 1947, Rosalia was united in marriage to John Gregory at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. To this union one daughter and four sons were born. They made home north of Belgrade where they had a dairy farm and she worked as a homemaker until their retirement in 1988. Rosalia and John were able to share in 55 years of marriage before his death on October 28, 2002.
Rosalia was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church where she was active in Christian Mothers. She enjoyed gardening, reading, cooking, baking, playing cards and games with the grandchildren and spending time with family.
Rosalia is survived by her children, Mary Ann (Richard) Hemmesch of Richmond, James (Pam) Gregory of Belgrade, Paul (Sarah) Gregory of Belgrade, Roger (Lisa) Gregory of Sauk Centre and John Jr (Christy) Gregory of Sauk Centre; 28 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; siblings, Hildegard Frieler, Robert Welters and Judy (Felix) Essler and sister-in-law, Rosina Welters. She was preceded in death by her husband, John; parents; and siblings, Helen, Herman, Lawrence, Albert and Martin.
