Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 16, 2016 at the Country Manor Chapel in Sartell for William V. "Bill" Vipond, age 82 of Sartell, who passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at the Country Manor. Reverend Gerald Dalseth will officiate. Interment will take place in St. Charles Parish Cemetery in Herman at 10:30 on Saturday.
Family and friends may call one hour prior to services on Friday at the Country Manor in Sartell. Arrangements are with the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud.
Bill was born on June 20, 1934 at home in Traverse County, Minnesota to Vern and Dorothea (Spohnholtz) Vipond. He married Ardyce Drexler on May 23, 1953 at St. Charles Catholic Church in Herman. Bill worked for MN DOT as a Surveyor until his retirement in 1991. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #3166 and Eagles Aerie #2342.
Bill enjoyed deer hunting, ice fishing, spearing, and auction sales. He especially loved all the time spent with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ardyce; daughters, Gwen (Gordy) Spengler of St. Cloud, Cindy (Loren) Prange of Grey Eagle; daughter-in-law, Jane (Dave) Lavelle of Surprise, AZ; sister, Mary Ann Bertram of Graceville; and three nieces.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; son, Rolly in 2002; and one nephew.
