We met Roger on a family vacation to Alaska in July of 1994. We were traveling with Jim Mrosla (a friend of Roger) to Fairbanks and North Pole AK. Since we were in the area Roger invited us to stay overnight at his home.(There were 10 of us!!) All together we ate salmon, talked a lot of his part of the world, and went fishing on the Tannana River. He showed us where his brother Denis had lived .Roger was kind and gracious. Although we only knew him for a day and a half we felt like we were friends for a long time. His kind are rare-far and few between. God Bless you Roger and Family. The privilege was all ours.

Dear Christman family,
I am so sorry to hear of Roger's death. I will always remember how he teased Mary Beth and I when we were young teens. Always a friendly, booming voice - much like your dad. Take care.

You were one of the brave that answered the call. You honored us by your service and sacrifice in Vietnam. We now honor you each time we stand and sing the words THE LAND OF THE FREE AND THE HOME OF THE BRAVE. Rest in Peace and Honor Roger.

Roger wasn't just a friend; he was always a friend when a friend was needed. He was always ready to repair something broken, chat a while, and look for a missing part, for a truck, car, or whatever. Once, he even drove five miles to Salcha School, and picked up my daughter for me, when our driveway was too muddy to get out...I know he is in heaven now, but was hoping we could visit one more time.
