Gene was a special person, a kind and loving friend. He was a special friend especially to my deceased husband Tom Thum. They spent many days together and Tom loved Gene like a brother. Pat is a sweet, great woman and she and Gene were really good together. God speed Gene!!

Gene was my hiring manager at UW a little over 20 years ago. Although we only worked a few years together, we became facebook friends sharing a similar sense of humor. Periodically after his retirement we would run into each other at our local commissary and he would always have kind words. Take comfort in knowing your father touched many lives in a positive way. My thoughts and prayers go out to his children, partner and loved ones.

Gene was a patient and funny supervisor when I worked at UW's 4545 location 20+ years ago. His dry sense of humor was a treat. In the years after I always looked forward to an email from him which was always a joke. He was a good and kind man. I will really miss him and the bits of lightness that he brought to my days. My sympathy to Gene's loved ones who surely have some good stories to tell.
