Barbara Gardner was the dearest friend of my godmother Nancy Hills. When my blessed mother Virginia Sells-Smith died, Vaudy, was the first to have a beautiful note sent to me. The note, I still cherish to this day. She was the epitome of style and grace. Barbara Kahn was a divine woman, who I shall never forget. Signed, Mrs. Heather Tappan.

Barbara (Vaudy) is certainly being welcomed to Heaven with a party that will last forever. She was a cherished family friend to me since my childhood; my parents and my grandmother... her mother, Mrs. Kahn , was great Friends with my grandmother.
I will surely miss her wonderful voice, smiling eyes, and gracious presence.
Sincere Condolences to Bob, Steve, and the entire family.
Love,
Cathy Butler

Bob, Steve and family: I was so sad to hear of Vaudy's passing! She was such a dear friend to my parents. I believe she and Charlie went to nursery school together (at least they were very young and remained friends their whole lives), and she was so welcoming to Alice when she came back from Manila as Charlie's bride. She was also very kind to me and always had that twinkle in her eyes. The last time I spoke to her was before my son's wedding at the BCC last year when I called to see if she could come. Alas, she wasn't up to leaving the house, but she still sounded like herself. She will be missed by many. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
