Kailash "KC" Chaudhary

Kailash "KC" Chaudhary left this world peacefully on Oct. 13, 2020. KC was born in India in 1937, the oldest of Ghanisham and Daya Wanti Chaudhary's six children. In 1957, he and three of his close friends made their way to the U.S. to study engineering in the San Francisco Bay Area. There, he met the love of his life, Gisela, to whom he was happily married for almost 58 years. They settled in Napa, where they raised their five children.
In 1968, he proudly became a naturalized U.S. citizen. Eight years later, he and his wife founded the Napa civil engineering firm of Chaudhary & Associates. He remained active in the Napa community throughout his life, as a member of the Napa Host Lions Club, the Kiwanis Club of Napa, Napa Engineers Society, the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE), ACEC/CELSOC/Cal Council, and as a member of the Napa County Grand Jury. He also took great pride in giving back to those in need in his home country, organizing the annual Napa Valley fundraiser for ASHA-India. KC enjoyed travelling the world with his wife, spending time with his family, and staying active in local government.

He is survived by his wife, Gisela; his son Norbert (Diana) Chaudhary and their children Karl (Zoey), Andrea (Curtis), Jennifer, and Kathleen; his daughter Rita (Jim) Bresee and their children Matthew (Carly), Brian, Easton (Jessica), Hagen (Laurie), Trenton (Natalie) and Kaylani; his son Arvin (Trina) Chaudhary and children Tyler (Anna), Jeron, Jakob and Bryson, and step-children Robin, Brian and Aaron; his daughter Monica (Tom) Willsey and children Paul and Nicole Kasrazadeh, and step-children Connor and Nicole; daughter Elke (Lisa) Chaudhary-Key and their children Spencer and Annika; great-grandchildren Elena, Declan, Kelton and Madeleine Bresee; and his siblings Santosh (Satish) Wadhwa, Saroj Ahuja, Kanwal (Himgauri) Chaudhary, Sudhir (Anila) Chaudhary, and was preceded in death by his brother Satish Chaudhary. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

Given the restrictions related to the pandemic, services will be private. The family is grateful for all of the support and well wishes from friends and relatives during his recent illness. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Kiwanis Club of Napa.

KC gave me my first civil engineering job out of college and working at Chaudhary and Assoc helped develop a great foundation that i still use to this day, nearly 30 years later. Good memories of those early years, fun projects, with Sudhir and Arvin too. Thank you KC!!

I have worked for Chaudhary and Associates for 19 years and for the first 10 KC was the President. KC was not only a great boss to work for, but you could sense his deep care for his employees. KC not only led a good life but gave a good life to many with his caring and compassion. He will be greatly missed. Our deepest condolences to the entire family and especially to his wife Gisela. My wife, Barbara, and I have lived next door to KC and Gisela for 22 years. In that time, we have had countless daily interactions. We enjoyed KC's upbeat, always friendly neighborly, ready to engage in jovial banter demeaner. Barbara and I will miss him and these seemingly trivial, but nevertheless, wonderfully rich daily chats of updating and sharing in each other's lives. KC was a heckuva guy. Barbara, our three children (who all grew up also interacting with KC and Gisela) and I express our deepest sympathies to Gisela and to the entire Chaudhary family.

My deepest sympathy at the loss of a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend and member of the community. My father ( Vidya Prakash Channon) knew Uncle since he first came to the IS as a student in the late 50´s. He attended Uncle & Gisela Auntie´s wedding in SF, at Mission Dolores. I know my parents valued their friendship through the years. Uncle was someone who helped his family to settle in the US and helped others who needed it. He was good hearted and jovial person. He lived a great life and built a legacy through his children and family and all he accomplished. Uncle was truly special and I always appreciated his wisdom as well as kindness when my parents passed away. I have fond memories from childhood of the gatherings at their home in Napa, with family and friends. May the love, memories bring comfort and peace and the support of family and friends. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Our hearts are broken today. KC's walking group walked less and partied more as the years went by. He was the brightest light in any group and we will miss him terribly. Hugs to Gisela and his children and grandchildren. He was so proud of you all. Nothing could light him up more than talking about all of you. (See 3 pics I posted earlier.)

I admired your husband and father so much. I remember the support you both showed your children when they attended Vintage High School. Your support of the school and staff were appreciated very much. He led a good life, providing for his family and helping others as he could. My heart and sympathy are with you all now as you say goodbye to a good man.

So sorry to hear this. Truly grateful that we had the opportunity to know this incredible person. He brought joy to so many and was always quick to smile and make those around him feel appreciated, welcome and loved. The world has lost a bright light, but heaven will show that much brighter in gaining this beautiful soul. Sending love to Gisela, Monica, Rita, Elke, Norbert and families, as well as to KC’s siblings and their families.
