Thomas Charles Bayless
September 13, 1943 - March 14, 2021
Tom Bayless, long-time Petaluma resident and San Francisco native died peacefully on March 14, 2021 at home surrounded by his family.
Born on September 13, 1943 to Harry and Dottie Bayless. He is survived by his wife Barbara of 53 years; children, Beth Porteous, Jill Poole and Amy O'Shea (Matt) and his six grandchildren: Kyle, Amanda, Caleb, Jacob, Halas and Bonham.
Tom loved time spent with family, golf friends, fishing buddies, and fellow Pedro players, as well as his work family at IBS. He also enjoyed vacationing in Arnold, CA with dear friends and family. Tom still kept in touch with many of his neighborhood friends from Eureka Valley and Most Holy Redeemer School and cherished his life-long friendships.
He will be remembered for his kind, generous and welcoming nature, his smile, hugs, and corny "Dad jokes".
Special thank you to the Kaiser Infusion Center staff of San Rafael, who took such great care of him.
A memorial will be held when it is safe to do so.
Any contributions in Tom's memory may be made to Hospice of Petaluma.

My mom and I would like to send our condolences to the Bayless family.
My dad worked with Tom at Bob Ostrow and mt dad always talked highly of Tom.
The last time I saw Tom was out at the Sonoma County Airport when he was dropping off paychecks. Everytime he saw me he would give a huge hug.
He will surely be missed.❤

Tommy Bayless was one of the most kind men I have ever had pleasure of knowing. Tom was always present with a smile a word of encouragement or if need be a fun joke to enlighten your day. I did not get to see much if Tommy, especially in our adult lives, with raising families and work, living on separates sides of the bay. Howe ever you never knew that by the way we loved and cared for each other and our families.
Tom will always be an important part of my life. And my heart, love goes out to Barb, Jill, Beth, Amy and their family. Rest In Peace Tommy!

Dear Family,
So very sorry for your (our) loss. Tom was a well liked and respected individual who made friends playing Pedro at Petaluma Elks.
My wife and I met Tom years ago when we moved to Petaluma. Just a solid family friend. So fortunate were we to have had him in our lives. He will be missed. Our deepest condolences to all of you.
