Betty DeYoung
Sheboygan Falls - Betty LaVerne DeYoung, 85, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2018, at St. Nicholas Hospital.
Betty L. Rockafellow was born on December 24, 1932, in Sheboygan, WI to Lyman and Esther (Altenburg) Rockafellow. She attended Sheboygan Falls High School. On April 2, 1949, Betty married Richard DeYoung in Sheboygan Falls.
Betty was a faithful member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Sheboygan where she served as a church greeter. She enjoyed gardening, baking, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and the Friends of Circus and sewed hundreds of custom teddy bears and was known for giving away her famous cookies. Betty and her husband, traveled with their magic show, DeYoung and Company, where they brought joy to many people throughout their 65 years producing the show together.
Betty is survived by her husband, Richard DeYoung of Sheboygan Falls, WI; two daughters, Bonnie, Susan; two sons, Terry, and David; five grandchildren, and many great grandchildren; two sisters, Jeanette, Naomi.
Betty was preceded in death by his father, Lyman (Esther) Rockafellow; mother, Esther (Lyman) Rockafellow; two sisters, Dorothy, Dona.
Relatives and friends may greet the family for a time of visitation at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Sheboygan on Sunday, March 18, 2018 from 1:00 pm until the time of service at 3:00 pm.
A memorial service to celebrate Betty's life will be held on Sunday, March 18, 2018, at 3:00 pm at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Sheboygan with Rev. Alan Kubow officiating.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established for Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to her primary care doctor, Dr. Paulic and the nurses and staff from the 5th floor ICU of St. Nicholas Hospital for their kind and compassionate care.

We are deeply sadden to now hear of the loss of Betty. She was a strong individual who we really admired and a blessing to have as a neighbor. A great loss, but wow, what a great life!

Bonnie and DeYoung family, I am so sorry for the loss of your mom Betty. She was always such a sweetheart in the years that I knew her. Always a smile on her face and a positive comment to be shared. You are in my thoughts and prayers during this time.
