Klunk, Richard E.
Richard E. Klunk was born October, 3, 1925 and died on October 17th of congestive heart failure. He was the son of Gottlieb and Mary (Goldman) Klunk. He attended Trinity grade school, North High School and the University of Wisconsin, Sheboygan.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Air Force as a Flight Officer, navigator, Bombardier, and Radarman. He worked at Plastics Engineering Company for 39 years, as an apprentice tool and die maker, tool and die maker, foreman of the tool room for 20 years and superintendent of the Molding Division for ten years.
He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, serving as an elder, vice president, and working on the Endowment Fund. He especially enjoyed the adult Bible classes for many years.
In 1950 he married Lois Mueller and they celebrated their 62nd anniversary in July. They were blessed with four children: Kendra Johnson (Jeffrey), Susan Reineking (Jerry), Christine Baier (Charles), and Timothy (Christine); ten grandchildren: Spencer Johnson (Kathryn), Stacy Javorek (Christopher), Dr. Benjamin Reineking (Lisa), Andrea Reineking (Matthew Platten), Ian Reineking (Lauren Abramowski), Jennifer Zeitler (Robert), Jeremy Baier (Ashley), Sara Klunk, Danielle Klunk, and Hannah Klunk. Four great grandchildren: Jack Johnson, Melanie and Joshua Javorek, and Maxwell Zeitler. He was also survived by a sister Audrey (Victor) Keitel, sister-in-law, Judith Schuette(Kenneth), and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, mother and father in-law, Mabel and Fred Mueller, a sister and brother-in-law Arline and Thomas Justin and a brother-in-law, Wayne Steinhaus.
In retirement Richard enjoyed traveling, spending time at his cottage at Wolf Lake, working on stained glass projects in winter and his summer days were spent in his flower garden. He became a Master Gardner and especially enjoyed the classes that were part of that program. Richard always loved spending time with his family.
Richard was a faithful, strong, loving, family oriented, wise and intelligent man. Heaven has received one of the greatest people. He was someone who lived every day to the fullest and cherished everyone for exactly who they are. He made each person feel important and special, and demonstrated every day the importance of family and God. We will miss him!

God had given us a wonderful friend, husband, father, grandfather, and God has taken this man back home to live with Him. In the years I worked at Plenco and Richard had not yet retired, I enjoyed our conversations. Such a kind and caring individual. He will be greatly missed. You have my sincere sympathy, and you are in my prayers.

We really only knew Richard through our relationship with his son, Tim, who is our brother-in-law. But, if the son is the kind of man that the father was (which I think is true), then the father must have been a special man, spouse and father. His impact on his son was noticeable and very positive. A real tribute to a father.

I first met Richard at Pastics Eng., he was a customer of mine. Only to find out in 1984 that he had a cottage on Wolf Lake when I moved out there. We were good friends thru work and later on. He was one of the nicest people I have ever met and I enjoyed talking to him whenever I saw him. I will miss him and his friendly smile.
RIP Richard
