Patricia "Patt" R. Schmitz
Kiel - Patricia "Patt" R. Schmitz, 68, of Kiel, joined her son in heaven on Thursday evening, April 12, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born Jan 30, 1950 in Kiel, daughter of the late Robert A. & Marian (Schwartz) Schneider. She attended Kiel High School.
On July 8, 1967 she married Gerald Schmitz at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Kiel. Patt worked at Tecumseh for many years. She worked for Phoebe Dog Products until retiring in 2015. Patt enjoyed cooking, baking, going up North, and Muskie fishing. She took great pride in her family and looked forward to attending grandchildren's sporting events.
Patt is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Gerry, her children: Brian Schmitz (Joleen Blatz), and Vickie (Kody) Feldmann; her grandchildren: Riley & Max Feldmann, Camrie Schmitz, Sara & Maria Blatz; her siblings: Joie (Jerry) Baldock, Robert Jr. (Nancy) Schneider, LuAnn Hackbarth, Debra (John) Stoll, Lorie (Bill) Schmitz, Michele (Brian) Robley, and Terry (Jim ) Demell; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Cyril (Kaylin) Schmitz, James (Dori) Schmitz, David (Lynn) Schmitz, Steven (Linda) Schmitz, Diane (Dennis) Lenz, Marilyn Ramminger, Carol Walters, Laurie (Glenn) Neils, Judy (Pat) O'Neil, Robert Williams (Rosie Dins), Donna Schmitz, Judy Schmitz; 9 step-siblings, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many special friends.
She was preceded in death by her son, Brad Schmitz, her mother and father, step father, Frederick "Fritz" Herr, father-in-law & mother-in-law, Ervin & Lorraine (Halbach) Schmitz, brothers-in-law: Kenneth Schmitz, Roger Schmitz, Tony Ramminger, & Edward Walters; sister-in-law, Lea Williams, and a family friend, Vern Adams.
Per Patt's wishes no service will be held and cremation has taken place. Burial will take place at a later date in SS Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a thank you to Dr. Kumar, Debbie Gray and the staff at Vince Lombardi Cancer Center, and the staff at Sharon S. Richardson Hospice for the care and compassion shown to Patt. A special thank you to Joie Baldock for going above and beyond for her sister.
