Gale worked as a dental assistant for over 37 years for Dr. Morrow in Shreveport. She loved her job and enjoyed being around people. After only two years of retirement she said, "I need to work!" So, she once again joined the work force, this time for George McGovern, CPA and worked there for many more years until she was finally ready to retire for good! Gale made a lot of friends over the years and never met a stranger. She was an avid reader and always had a book in her hand. Gale was an excellent cook and loved doing it. She was sassy and witty with a sharp sense of humor up until her last days.
Gale was preceded in death by her family members, Kenny, Glynn, and Vicky Queen Hicks. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Jim Queen; their children, Rusty Dodson, Beverly "Babs" Queen, Sean Queen and wife Janel, Mark Queen and J.P. Queen; eight grandchildren, Josh Queen and wife Krista, Katie Queen, Casey Dodson and wife Emily, Valarie Queen, Ashley Villegas and husband Juan, Brad Queen and wife Cortney, Levi Queen and Joshua Queen; six great grandchildren, A.J. Queen, Duke and Derek Dodson, and Hope, Vickie, and Juan Villegas, Jr.; sister, Peggy Bougeus and husband Sammy; sister-in-law, Karen Carvelli and husband Jim; and brother-in-law, Randy Queen.
Gales family would like to thank Dr. Peddi and his staff at the Cancer Center in Shreveport, Regional Hospice, and the staff at Pilgrim Manor for the love and care that was given to Gale during this time. Each of you made this journey a little easier. Thank you, Sherry, Brandy, Seth, and Christy, for always being there for our family.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request donations be made to Alzheimer's Disease Research, Breast Cancer Research Foundation, or to the charity of your choice
