I will always love you Pop-Pop
July 11, 2019
Albert, who was called Albie by his wife and Pop-Pop by myself, was a unique man.

He was soft spoken, and when he spoke it was well thought out and with intention.

He was knowledgeable about a plethora of topics ranging from how machinery worked to U.S. and local history.

He was a tinkerer, and recently repaired a beloved clock from the 1800s. He was a craftsman (beyond and including blacksmithing)and an artist.

He took pride in all his work, from the smallest repair to the largest project. He paid meticulous attention to everything he did.

He was a kind man with a good sense of humor. He spoke and listened to anyone no matter their background.

He took comfort in a simple lifestyle, and enjoyed the small things like a good cup of coffee or beer.

He loved his family and friends, and saw that love returned.

These are just a few things I wanted to reminisce with those who knew him and to share with those who didn't get a chance to know him as well.

Thank you everyone for your sympathy, but especially for being a part of his life. Or if you are supporting a family member or friend of his, thank you for sharing your time with us.

Pop-Pop loved to tell stories.

I would like to encourage anyone reading this to sit down with someone you love or someone you just want to get to know better and share a story. It may be simple or lengthy story. You may find the Story Corps App useful as a way to save your stories for generations to come.

And while you're at it, have a cup of coffee or tea or beer. Just like Pop-Pop.
