Bruce J. Lanahan Sr., 82
A native of Staten Island, Bruce Lanahan Sr. passed away on April 8, 2020. He graduated from McKee High School where he studied to be an auto mechanic and became a top-notch mechanic. In addition to being a car enthusiast he also had a passion for motorcycles. After working for various auto establishments, Bruce retired from SIRTOA in 2002 as an auto mechanic.
He was a loving father who never said no to his children. His leisure time was spent with family at car races, including Weissglass Stadium, and watching NASCAR on TV. He enjoyed jokes, comedy shows, and listening to country music and was a fan of Willie Nelson. He was also a member of the Freehold NJ Elks Association. Bruce was a patient, generous man who wouldn't hesitate to stop and assist with any disabled vehicle even when his car was filled with his children.
Bruce is survived by his wife Joann, his children Joseph (Lori), Maria (Alan Christoffersen), Bruce Jr. (Denise), Linda Maldonado, and Debbie, 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, September 13 from 1 to 5 p.m. at Cherubini McInerney Funeral Home. The family requests no flowers.
