Carl J. Waite, 74
Former NYPD officer, retired from DA's office in St. George
Carl J. Waite, 74, passed away on July 25, 2020, at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital - Neuro-Science Building in Philadelphia, Pa.
He was born on Dec. 16, 1945, in Flint, Mich., to George and Estella Waite.
Carl grew up in Flint. He graduated from Saint Agnes High School in Flint, Michigan in 1964. After high school. He attended Flint Community College for two years. Afterwards, he worked at General Motors. He moved to Staten Island and worked for the New York City Police Department as a police officer (1973 to 1997). He worked in the 13th, 1st, 9th, and 122 precincts. He retired from the District Attorney's Office in St. George, Staten Island, where he assisted with investigations.
Carl married Linda A. Waite in 1971 in Staten Island. They were happily married for 48 years. Carl was a member of Fraternal Order of Police. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchild, talking to friends on Facebook, traveling to different countries, vacationing at his beach house, and playing the slots in Atlantic City, N.J.
Carl is survived by his spouse, Linda of Staten Island; his daughter, Kathleen of Staten Island; son. Kevin of Henryville, Pa.; his brothers, George and Michael Waite; and his sister, Lorna Martin; his grandchild, Larissa M. Waite, He was a loving uncle to his nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and other relatives.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, George and Estella Waite.
A funeral service will be held at Blessed Sacrament Church located at 30 Manor Rd., Staten Island, N.Y. 10314, on Friday, July 31, 2020, at 10 a.m. A visitation will be held at Casey Funeral Home, 350 Slosson Ave., Staten Island, 10314, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., July 30, 2020. The burial will take place at Moravian Cemetery located at 2205 Richmond Rd., Staten Island, N.Y. 10306, following the church service.

Carl and I were in the Police Academy together. We spent many days on the SI Ferry commuting to the PA. Great conversations...Great Times, many slices of pizza...... Carl is a person I will always remember......
