Domenick Cavicchio, 89
Beloved grandfather of 10, loved to drive his red Mustang
Domenick Cavicchio, 89, of Rossville, S.I., a retired longshoreman, died Sunday, February 21,2021, on his 89th birthday, from COVID.
Born in Mola Di Bari, Italy, he immigrated to the United States with his wife, the belated Natalizia Cavicchio, where they moved and began their life in Brooklyn. He moved to Huguenot in 1978 before settling in Rossville in the early 2000s.
Mr. Cavicchio was a retired Longshoreman, he belonged to the Staten Island Mola Club and was a parishioner of Our Lady Star of the Sea R.C. Church, Huguenot. He enjoyed spending time with his 10 grandchildren, taking cruises to Aruba, Bahamas and traveling to Florida but most of all loved to go to Atlantic City and drive around in his red convertible Mustang.
Domenick is survived by his four sons, Al (Maryann), Leo (the late Jackie), Nicky (Andrea) and Anthony (Lisa) and his 10 grandkids, Natalie, Nicole, Victoria, Leonardo, Nicholas, Matthew, Domenick, Sophia, Caterina and Anthony.
The funeral will be Sunday, Feb. 28, 2021, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Scarpaci Funeral Home, Pleasant Plains, followed with a Mass on Monday at 10:15 a.m. at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church. Entombment will be in Woodbridge (N.J.) Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. There will be livestreaming available on Sunday on YouTube at Scarpaci Funeral Home.
