Hello Susan and Lynne,

This is your cousin, Bob Blackburn. Sorry to learn of your Dad's passing. I learned about it only yesterday from my brother Frank who saw it on facebook. Had I known sooner I would have attended the service.

I liked Uncle Jack a lot. He was always upbeat whenever I saw him. At your Mom's funeral in 2001 he was telling me about having had surgery to remove part of his colon - he told it in a way that was positive and cheerful.

He certainly had an interesting life. I think he became a Prudential Insurance agent at the beginning of his career on the advice of my father, your Uncle Frank, who had switched from working as a laborer in a milk factory, to becoming a Prudential agent when he was 29.

Your Dad's switching to becoming a real estate developer was an amazing transformation.

Please accept my and my wife, Anne's, sincere condolences on this loss.

I read Susan's posting and the obituary, both a very nice tribute to a special person.

I also was happy to see the many photos that were available on facebook. The only photo I had of Grandma and Grandpa B together was one that Donald Crooks had sent to me some years ago of their wedding day but this was the first time I saw them together at a more advanced age at your parent's wedding. Brings back fond memories.

Fondly,

Bob and Anne Blackburn

Our sincere sympathy to your family at this sad time. We will forever cherish our summers together amid the sunflowers on Green Island. It's the end of a great era for all of us. May Jack finally be reunited with all his family watching over us all.
Sincerely,
The Kappler and Ploskonka families
