Dear Carolyn and Flannery Family,
We are truly saddened to hear of Pat's passing, and we would like to express our sincere condolences to you and your family. Pat was such a caring and amazing person, and he always put a smile on all our faces - even when he was annoyed by something! Pat was always, always there for his family, friends, and community. And, he helped me, my dad and our family more times than I can remember, and for that, we are truly grateful. Over the many years that I served with Pat in the fire co, he was one person I could always confide in because I knew he would always tell me the truth, whether I wanted to hear it or not. His honesty and disdain for formality and convention were one of the many things we loved about him.
To summarize Pat using an old Hebrew word ( ) to describe someone with personal honor and integrity, he was a real mensch. His passing is a loss to us all, and we will miss him.
