Barbara A. DeAngelis, 78
Devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many
Barbara A. DeAngelis, 78, died on Nov. 9, 2017, at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
Barbara was best known for her classy sense of style, design ability, decorating ideas and love of animals. She loved spending time with family and friends, especially celebrating occasions and holidays.
She spent her time taking courses at the JCC, caring for a friend at Carmel Richmond Nursing Home, caring for stray animals, and painting and drawing.
Barbara's friends describe her as giving, fun-loving and someone who would go out of her way for others. She constantly spoke of her children and grandchildren and how proud she was of them. She was still working as a matron for the 21st Ave School Bus up until the time she was hospitalized this September. She truly loved the special education students she cared for on the bus and spoke of them often.

In keeping with Barbara's wishes, a church service was held on Nov. 11, 2017.

My precious Barbara, you were more than a friend to me. We knew each other since we worked together at Deloitte & Touche and kept in touch all these years until. I am so thankful to have known you and that you were in my life. We called each other frequent and shared so much with each other. I love you and will miss our phone calls and hearing your voice. Rest in Peace! May the Lord give comfort to your children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and the rest of your family.
