Nick DeFeo, 95
Nick DeFeo, 95, born April 14, 1924, in New York City was the sixth of seven children (two girls and five boys) born to parents Frances and Louis DeFeo. All five boys enlisted and served in the military during World War II in various branches, and all five returned home safely from their service. Nick served as a member of the Office of Strategic Services (OSS) where he ran a safe-house for agents in Germany.
A resident of New Dorp since 1968, prior to which he was a resident of Bensonhurst.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 53 years, Rose. Father of Linda Billi, Nick DeFeo and Barbara DeFeo. Proud grandpa to Nicholas, Edward, Lauren, Christina, Alicia and Emily.
He enjoyed ballroom dancing with his wife, Rose, walking daily to Great Kills Park, where he would meet and make friends on the park pathways, providing inspiration and being a positive influence to those around him. Nick enjoyed gardening and maintaining his home - always engaged in a project or painting items in his garden or patio.
He was a generous contributor to several charities for veterans, children and animals. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the local VA or charity of importance on his behalf.

Nick was an amazing person. I used to see him walking at Great Kills park and he always had a great story to tell and was so positive about life. He would always say, “put your best foot forward “ and that’s what I’ll do. He will be missed.

I had the honor of knowing this wonderful person for the last 10 years when I moved to Milton Avenue. My only regret is that I didn't know him sooner. The years I knew Nicholas were memories I will cherish forever. He is my angel, love you Nicholas xox RIP

Your Dad and Grandfather always had a kind word for everyone who met him in Great Kills Park. Inspiring people was his mission and I feel he really accomplished that mission. A proud Veteran, Father and Grandfather.
