It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Louise Marie Annette DeVillers at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre on Friday, February 19, 2021. Louise had just entered her 74th year. Louise was the daughter of Louis DeVillers and Anita DeVillers, nee Brabant, and was raised in Penetanguishene, enjoying a multicultural upbringing and education. Louise was a Registered Nurse, graduating from the Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie Ontario in 1969. Louise loved nursing, helping people, and learning their stories. She worked as a nurse in numerous locations across Canada, including, but not limited to, Toronto, Halifax, Fort Frances, and Vancouver. In each location, Louise befriended people and became part of their family and they become part of her extended family. She remembered birthdays, anniversaries, children's names, and pets, although she was not a pet person. Over the years she faithfully kept in touch through cards, letters, visits, meals and phone calls with every friend and their family. Louise made you feel like you were the most important person in her life. She also shared your name and stories with all her friends, so as we talk now and remember her, it is as if we all have been close through the years. Louise's family and friends will deeply miss her. We have all benefited from having her in our lives. In remembrance of Louise, open a bag of plain chips, a large tub of onion dip and wash them down with a blue. Rest in peace Louise. Funeral information will be communicated to family and friends in the Spring of 2021. Arrangements entrusted to the Penetanguishene Funeral Home.
