William Lawrence Bullers Jr., 75, of 1745 Silver Creek Rd., Johnsonburg, died Friday morning, Jan. 5, 2018 at Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh following a brief illness.
He was born Nov. 13, 1942 in Gowanda, New York, son of the late William L. Bullers Sr. and Hattie Belle Schank Bullers.
He married Diana L. Oertly on June 29, 1968 in Nazareth Lutheran Church, Wilcox, and she survives. He resided in Johnsonburg most of his life and was a 1960 graduate of Johnsonburg Area High School.
He attended the Johnsonburg United Methodist Church and was a member of the Johnsonburg Servicemen's Burial Detail, Rolfe Sportsmen's Club and Central Hose Company. He loved to read, hunt and spend time with his family. He also loved to build things in his workshop and take rides on his four-wheeler. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler and Penguin fan and he loved his dogs.
He was a Vietnam era Navy veteran serving at sea aboard the carrier USS Yorktown as an electrician's mate where he received his education as an electrician.
He retired from the Weyerhaeuser-Johnsonburg Paper Mill in 2006. He had also worked at Stackpole Carbon Company and at the Wilman Pontiac Body Shop.
In addition to his wife at home, he is survived by two daughters and three sons, Stephanie Biondi and her companion David Severance of Wilcox, William E. Bullers of Johnsonburg, Wendy Hoover of Johnsonburg, Craig Bullers and his wife Amanda of Johnsonburg and Cody Bullers and his companion Kelly Blauser of Johnsonburg; 11 grandchildren, Cassandra, Alicia and Mikala Biondi, Hunter Bullers, Austin Hoover, Tyler, Brooke, Tony, Luke and Haley Bullers and Carter Bullers; and one brother, Robert Bullers and his wife Elaine of Rochester, New York.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Ronald Bullers; and one sister, Joyce Tucker.
A funeral service for William L. Bullers Jr. will be conducted Wednesday, Jan. 10 at 11 a.m. at the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home, 410 Chestnut St., Johnsonburg. Officiating will be Rev. Roger Peterson, pastor of the Johnsonburg United Methodist Church. Interment will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens, Ridgway.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday, Jan. 9 from 6-8 p.m.
Military honors will be accorded by the Johnsonburg Servicemen's Burial Detail. Detail members are asked to assemble at the funeral home on Wednesday morning at 10:30 a.m.
If desired, memorial contributions should be made to the Johnsonburg Servicemen's Burial Detail or the Johnsonburg Public Library.

I just saw about Bill. I was in the hospital at the time and just got home. I knew Bill from high school and in later years from Footerest. I will always remember him as a kind, funny person. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Ellen Johnson Pistner
