Robert “Bob” Cain

MISHAWAKA - Bob was born on April 12, 1958 in Niles, MI to Phillip Donald Cain and Bonnie Louise Odenbach, who preceded him in death.
He graduated from Niles Adult High School in 1982. He married Beverly Jayne Rose on August 29, 1981. They have three sons and a daughter, Christopher Allen (Sue Mitchell) Cain, Dustin Robert (Diana Marie Mitchell) Cain, David Royace (Julie Lear) Cain, and Becca (Aasin) Monroe; Goddaughters, Sarina Harkins and Jocelyn Woolet; Godson, William Woolet; a brother, James D. Cain; sisters, Vickie Suher, Sherrie Rose, and Bonnie “Sis” Cain; nine grandchildren, R. J., Gracie, Lizzie, Torie, Logan, Dalton, Dylan, Aidan Cain, and Elloise Monroe; and nephews, Ryan Rose, Michael (Erin and Riley) Gaul, Nick and Andy Cain.
Bob served in the U.S. Navy, going to Spain and New Zealand, serving in the U.S.S. Roosevelt, and he went to the Antarctica in Operation Deep Freeze and brought back penguins to Sea World in San Diego, CA; he was stationed at Point Magu, CA; and he lived in Oxnard, CA where his oldest son was born. Bob loved airplanes because his father had one, and he frequently went on flights with him; this got him started in his love for airplanes. He worked at Corporate Wings Line Tech. Bob's interests were music - Country, Oldies, and Christian. Bob was also into NASCAR. He worked security at M.I.S with his son, Christopher. Then he went to races with all of his sons and daughter. He also got his dream come true: he got to go to Bristol. Bob also loved college football. His favorite team is Michigan Wolverines. He worked for many years driving semi-trucks, starting at Schneider Trucking and then working for R.J. Cartage, the Connection and Saia. He loved his family and friends. He loved God. He was a member of the Bible Study at Whispering Pines, where he has many friends, brothers and sisters in the Lord.
On Monday morning, January 15, 2018 he went to go be with his Lord and Savior, of an apparent heart attack.
There will be a Memorial Service on Tuesday, January 23 at 3:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior, in Hahn Funeral Home, Mishawaka.
