Katherine Williams, 83, the fifth of six daughters, was born January 3, 1938 in Mount Vernon, TX to the late Tom and Rebecca Mitchell. She grew up and received her formal education in the Mount Vernon Public School system. Katherine Williams worked 42 years as a Nurse Assistant at Saint Joseph Hospital in South Bend, IN.

Sister Katherine Williams was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

She leaves to cherish her memory four daughters, Deloras Orr, Kimora Flemming, Vickie (Martin) Baker, and Debra Williams; seven grandchildren, Angela (Antonio) Buckley, Marcell Strong, Tsungiririai Jones, Martin Baker, Marques Harris, Cornelia Baker, and Alarria Jones; great-grandchildren, Kennedy Strong, Ethan Strong, Morgan Strong, Tialeah Bailey, and Carson Harris; and sister, Mary McKinney; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, and the Christ Temple Church Family.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 15, 2021 at 12PM at Christ Temple Church of God in Christ, 1212 S. Michigan St., South Bend, IN. There will be a public viewing hour Friday, January 15, 2021 from 11AM-12PM at Christ Temple Church of God in Christ. Alford's Mortuary, Directors in charge.
