Linda Witt Leslie

Jan. 10, 1947 - Mar. 17, 2021

JACKSONVILLE, FL - Linda Witt Leslie passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2021, in her home of Jacksonville, Florida. Linda was born January 10, 1947 to Earl and Virginia Lewis Witt of South Bend, IN. She was a proud 1965 graduate of South Bend Central High School and a 1969 graduate of Purdue University.

Surviving is Linda's loving husband of 24 years, Kerry Leslie, her daughter, Melissa Davis (Steven), of Coral Springs, Fl., grandchildren, Ryan Davis, Ashley Davis and Kayla Sena, her brother, Robert Witt (Stephanie) of Granger, IN, niece, Allison Howard and nephews Mathew, Andrew & Evan Witt.

As a devout Christian since childhood, she never wavered in her faith or her resolution towards being good, sweet and kind towards every living soul.

Linda always, fervently, embraced her South Bend roots and, though from a distance, kept in touch with the “happenings” as well as lifetime friends of her beloved hometown.

As per Linda's wishes, no services were to be held.

In remembrance of Linda, please commit to an act of kindness. Memorial donations may be made to the National Cancer Institute Bethesda, MD 20892

You are probably the kindest and most considerate person I have ever known. It is very hard to accept that you are gone. I am so sorry this happened.

Linda was absolutely the best friend one could ever have. Linda was a strong believer in the Lord and all his workings, she was such a kind and giving individual one can only hope, that during there lifetime they are so lucky/blessed to have a similar experience of meeting and enjoying and doing things with such a lovely person.
The wonderful times (Christmas, Birthdays, Special get together‘s, etc.) that was spent with Linda and her husband Kerry will always be remembered and kept close to our hearts. Love you always Linda and God Bless!

Cousin Linda was, and IS, as fine a human spirit as I've ever met. She had a great kindness, the courage to love, loyalty to family and friends, and an excellent sense of humor, a legacy of her father, Earl. God Bless her devoted family, who loved and appreciated her fully while she walked among us. A large number of us look forward to seeing you again, Cuz!

Linda is the kindest, most unassuming person I have ever met. Wish we had more time. A big reminder to keep connections in tact- as we are not promised another day. Much love to this woman. She made a huge difference in my life. Thank You. ♥

From the moment Linda walked into our home, the day we met Melissa and her family, we were instantly happy and fell in love with all of them, including Linda, and they returned that love. Not strangers for even a second, our families grew into one. We were so proud to meet her. to know her, to always enjoy her company, her bright smile, her kind and loving thoughtfulness, and to share love with her for too few short years. She was the perfect mother for Melissa, the best mother-in law to Steve, and an awesome grandmother to Ryan and Ashley. Anyone who knew her and Kerry had no doubt that she was a wonderful wife whose marriage was blessed with great love. In a split second Linda was miraculous God-given gift to our Cowart family. Now Linda is with the Him, but loving memories of her will remain in our family's hearts forever. Rest in peace dear Linda.

Mrs. Linda was such a sweet and very kind lady. You felt at ease when you talked with her. She would joined us at the monthly Cowboy lunches on occasions and when she was unable to attend Kerry got her a tuna melt to go (her favorites).
Let her memories be lasting blessings for the entire family and every one that she’s touched. I pray for peace plus comfort for Kerry and the entire family. She has joined our Father God in heaven as an Angle!
