WALKERTON - Charles Ellis, 79, of Walkerton, Indiana, passed away at 9:20 a.m. Saturday, January 6, 2017.
He was born March 26, 1938 in Bramble, Indiana to the late Asa and Mary (Hulbert) Ellis.
Charles was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Walkerton. He was previously employed at AM General. He enjoyed farming, restoring tractors, traveling and spending time with family.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Linda (Horn) Ellis; daughter, Deb Stoner; sisters, Annie Cunningham, Dorothy Spears and Margaret Wagoner; parents, Asa and Mary (Hulbert) Ellis and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Charles is survived by his children, Theresa Lynn (Randy) Hunt of Osceola and Rick Ellis of Walkerton; 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; brothers, Harry Ellis, Jim Ellis, Bill Ellis and John Raymond Ellis, all of Loogootee; sisters, Ruth Strange of Bloomington and Mary Keller of El Paso, Texas; son-in-law, Mike Stoner; 1 brother-in-law and 1 sister-in-law.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Very Rev. J. Kenneth Walker at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 11, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 10, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee, Indiana.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery.
