Duncan “Runco” S. MacKenzie

SOUTH BEND - South Bend- Duncan S. MacKenzie, 56, passed away on Friday, December 22, 2017 in his home.
Duncan was born April 7, 1961 in South Bend, to David & Mary (Henderson) MacKenzie and grew up in the Ardmore area. His mother preceded him in death.
Survivors of Duncan include his father; children, Michael Scott MacKenzie, Matthew David Scott (Amber) MacKenzie, Emily Louise Roberson, and William Alexander MacKenzie; grandchildren, Havanna, Katelyn, Charlotte, Ruthanne, Marcus, Connor & Logan MacKenzie & Nathaniel Roberson; his baby, Chewy, the dog.
Duncan proudly served his country in the United States Army. He enjoyed golf, fishing, travelling, tailgating, dancing and loved blues and rock music. He was an avid Packers and Notre Dame Fan. Duncan was a hardworking man, good father, ladies man and fun, loving person.
Duncan's life will be celebrated 10:00am to 2:00pm on Saturday, December 30, 2017 in Weiss Gasthaus, 115 N. Dixie Way, South Bend, IN 46637.

It won't be the same on Sundays at the East Race. You with your "water bottle" and jokes and sharing each others grand-kids pictures. Rob & I with our Chicago Bear chairs and you always making fun of them, Packer Man. You fought a hard fight, rest our friend. God's blessings to you and your family.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Duncan's entire family and friends. I'm thankful I have the honor of saying he touched my life. Duncan was a wonderful guy and will be missed by so many. I will ever forget our trip to see Aerosmith at Alpine Valley. We had some great times. I'll never forget you, Mac...RIP

Ethan, Liam and Myself will always cherish the friendship, support and encouragement you provided us! I'm so blessed to have been able to spend everyday with you during your last few months of life and hopefully made your days a bit brighter and the pain a lil less. I will remember are talks,laughter and tears we shared forever and even though my heart is broken losing you my dear friend I know that you are in peace now and not in pain anymore.
