NEW CARLISLE - Earle L. “Roy” Beatson, Jr., 69, of New Carlisle, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2018, in Hamilton Grove. He was born on August 25, 1948 in Sumter, South Carolina to the late Earle LeRoy Sr. and Dorothy (Barfield) Beatson. On June 3, 1972, Earle married Carolyn Hall in Sumter, South Carolina. She survives him. Other survivors include two daughters, Kristen (Harold) Parsons of South Bend, Indiana and Joanna (Chad) Hetrick of Westfield, Indiana; one son, Scott Beatson of New Carlisle, Indiana; one sister, Carole Black of Sumter, South Carolina; one brother, Paul (Rebecca) Beatson of Virginia Beach, Virginia; two nieces, Vicki (Joe) Lautato and Mandy (Jacob) Huseman; and one nephew, Michael (Melissa) Hall. Earle was also preceded in death by one brother-in-law, Fingal Black; his mother and father-in-law, Carl and Grace Hall; and one sister-in-law, Judith Hall. Earle graduated from Edmonds High School in Sumter, South Carolina. He attended Clemson College, where he played tennis. Earle loved sports and continued to play tennis after college. He coached several little league and Jr. League girls softball teams while his daughters played. Earle and his wife attended the New Carlisle Wesleyan Church. Earle was a gentle soul with a wife and three children who were brought up with lots of love and laughter. He loved the Lord, his family, sports, and genuinely loved his fellow man. Visitation will be from 10:00 until 11:15 a.m. EST on Saturday, February 24, 2018, in the New Carlisle Wesleyan Church, 32645 Early Road, New Carlisle, Indiana 46552. A Celebration of Life Service will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. EST on Saturday in the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Earle's honor to the New Carlisle Wesleyan Church. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life”. This verse is from John 3:16 which was Earle's favorite Bible passage. Online condolences may be left at www.kaniewski.com.
