Sincere condolences to the family. When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure in your heart and it lives forever. May the wonderful treasures fill your hearts with love and bring you peace, Hosea 13:14. *

Jo Wood was a warm-hearted, intelligent, generous, determined and strong woman who was a tireless contributor to her church and community, a loyal friend and neighbor, and a proud and loving mother and grandmother. Jo had a strong moral compass and led by example. She lived a productive, interesting and fun life, always busy planning trips, visits to family or working to serve others. I admired her energy, compassion and wisdom which I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to benefit from.

Jo was honest and straightforward: I remember a time when she thought I was making a mistake, she told me in no uncertain terms but, with kindness. That was Jo: no-nonsense, direct, outspoken with a loving heart.

Summer in Lewes will not be the same without visiting Jo on the porch and hearing her speak with such pride of her truly amazing children and grandchildren. The world is a poorer place without her, but a richer place for her loving spirit and contributions.

Mrs Wood was not only my first grade teacher she was my FAVORITE teacher of all time. She always knew me and never passed w/o saying Hi. She always left a wonderful impression with everyone she met. She was a wonder person to know and share life with. I am grateful to have had such a wonderful, Christian lady in my life. We know she is with our Lord now and enjoying Heaven. My deepest sympathy to the family, and I hope the wonderful memories shared together will help you through her absence.
