Elizabeth "Betty Ann" (DiLando) Schnell peacefully passed away surrounded by her devoted and caring family Friday February 26, 2021. She was born November 16, 1955 in Boston, Massachusetts to Enfilio "Hoppy" and Betty (McNeil) DiLando. On June 22, 1974 she married Ted Schnell of Pueblo, Colorado and together they lovingly raised three amazingly strong children. Betty Ann is survived by her husband Ted; twin sisters Catherine DiLando and Patricia Scannell; daughter Maria and her husband James Pease, and their two sons Jethro and Max; daughter Andrea and her partner Kristy McInnis and their children Ben and Kevin; daughter-in-law Kirsten Schnell and children Emma and Grace; son Erik Schnell and his wife Kara, and their children Emelie and Teddy; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Betty Ann was a graduate of St. Gregory's School in Dorchester in 1973. A long-time medical administrator, she retired in 2011. She was an avid reader and loved watching British mysteries and baking shows. She learned to knit when she was young and made treasured blankets and hats for her grandchildren and the animal shelter. Betty Ann and Ted wintered in Boynton Beach, Florida with many of their life-long cherished friends. She loved spending time by the ocean and especially when the beach roses were in bloom. A devoted loving grandmother "Nanny" to eight grandchildren, she made each one feel like they were the most special person in the whole wide world. Visiting hours at Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington Street, DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS, Monday March 1, 3-7 p.m. Betty Ann's Mass of Christian burial will be private. Interment Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester.
