William "Bill" Coutts, 64, died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012, at Good Samaritan Medical Center. Bill was born April 28, 1947, in Cambridge, to William and Alice Coutts. He grew up in Lynn and lived in Weymouth for 37 years. Bill graduated from St. Marys High School in Lynn, Class of 1965. He attended St. Anselm College and graduated from Framingham State College 1972. He served in the Army Reserves from 1966-1972. He held many jobs in his lifetime, most recently as a Teamster in Local 259 at the Boston Globe, part owner of
GolfBoston.com, manager of News Distributor in Allston, part owner of Dedham Mailing Company in Hyde Park and as a teacher in Weymouth Public Schools. He was an avid golfer and sports fan. Upon retirement, he became a member and vice president of Sharon Country Club, where he scored his first and only hole-in-one. Bill also set many club records including most rounds played in a single season, 210. Bill was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend to many. Bill always loved a good joke, especially if he was telling it. He will be missed greatly by all who knew him but he will continue to live on in our hearts and memories. He is survived by his devoted wife of 40 years, Jean (Murray) Coutts of Weymouth; son and daughter-in-law, Corby and Ericka Coutts of West Roxbury; daughter and son-in-law, Allison and Michael OConnor of Roslindale; son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Tracy Coutts of West Newton. Bill was also the proud Papa of Camryn and Riley Coutts and Katherine OConnor. Bill was the third oldest of four children. His sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Jack Kupelnick of Lynn, his sister Patricia Polsonetti of Ayer, and sister and brother-in-law, Mary Ellen and Rick Tobey of Lynn. Bill was also a loving uncle to 15 nieces and nephews. Funeral from the McDonald Funeral Home South Weymouth, at 809 Main St. (Rte. 18 opposite South Shore Hospital), Friday at 9 a.m. Funeral Mass to follow in St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8 p.m. Private burial at a later date.
