Al was generous with his time and his humor. I always enjoyed the chance to talk with him.
I treasured the instrumental parts he wrote for me to play in his several Johnson Memorial Summer Players youth musicals. I certainly appreciated the recognition he afforded me when he gave me the difficult clarinet accompaniment part for the long choir version of "When The Saints Go Marching In".
I learned an awful lot from Al about how to sing and pronounce correctly as a member of the Johnson Memorial Adult choir.
Thank you, Al. You had a life well-lived.

I am saddened to hear of this passing. I will always remember the recital he gave at Western Washington State College when I was a little girl. I was absolutely in awe. I send you my deepest sympathies.

Sincere condolences. May God bring relief and inner peace and may He help you endure these difficult moments. (Psalms 145:18, 19) Respectfully Ali
